Abstract
This dissertation examines the perspectives, ethical priorities, and gendered navigations of traditional religious women of color within Mormonism, a family-centered and highly gendered American-born religion. Using primarily the method of oral history interviews, I analyze the complex agency Mormon women of color enact in Mexico, Botswana, and the U.S. as they adopt and adapt their Mormon faith to their particular context.
